I decided spur of the moment this evening to nuke my DA account. After 14 years give or take, I no longer see it as my home.

-Abysmal UI changes that gutted all desktop suitabilty in favor of mobile format leaving everything feeling empty and boring

-The inclusion of AI art in the midst of legitimate artists, with no way to completely turn it off (only an option to show "fewer" AI posts), not to mention constantly recommending AI groups

-Any user I enjoy seeing likely has social media elsewhere anyway

-Don't use the forums anymore, half the people I recognize from long ago don't go on the site anymore, and the whole place feels entirely unfamiliar to me

Combined with the fact that I don't make much art anymore (ever since lockdown ended I've been burnt out by work again) and there was just no reason to stay.

So farewell DA, I will always cherish the memories I had, but you are no longer the thing I once knew and loved.
